Kunar peace negotiator assassinated

ASADABAD (PAN): A government peace negotiator was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in eastern Kunar province on Sunday, an official said.
Tajbar Khan, a member of the Kunar Peace Committee, was gunned down in the Salampur area of Noorgal district at 3.00pm, the provincial governor said.
Governor Shujaul Mulk Jalala told Pajhwok Afghan News two motorcyclists shot dead the peace negotiator on his home from the mosque.
Mohammad Ismail Munib, the provincial peace body head, called the deceased an active member, who had played a key role in resolving intra-tribal disputes.
