11,000 checklists, result sheets ready

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Tuesday announced entering at least 11,000 checklists and result sheets into the computerised system.
The IEC has completed the entry of results from 3,645 polling stations into the system in eight phases. Votes from 2,876 polling stations have been declared confidential.
IEC spokesman Noor Mohammad Noor told reporters 10,800 checklists and result sheets had been fed into the system Monday evening. Of them 7,447 are to be announced in a meeting on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ashraf Ghani’s team welcomed the launch of the invalidation process and urged a prompt conclusion of the process.
Halim Fidaee, a member of the Change and Continuity team, said IEC had shared the reasons for vote invalidation with both sides.
He opined if the procedure of vote invalidation was in clash with agreed standards, the two teams should discuss the issue with the IEC officials.
Fazal Ahmad Manawi, a member of Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s team, has warned of boycotting the ongoing vote audit if their technical demands are not met.
