SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): Thousands of people, with some carrying weapons, on Wednesday rallied in central Sar-i-Pul province in a show of support for Afghan security forces.

Some 6,000 people, including lawmakers, government officials and residents attended the rally in Sar-i-Pul city, the provincial capital.

He said the people of Sar-i-Pul supported Afghan security forces and would stand with them if required.

Maulviinfo-icon Naqibullah, the peace committee and ulemainfo-icon council chief, criticised President Ashraf Ghani over the latest security incidents.

He said the commander-in-chief of the armed forces only expressed regret over the recent security incidents in which hundreds people lost their lives.

Governor Abdul Jabbar Haqbin praised people’s support for their national armed forces and said the provincial government was with security forces under any circumstances.
