GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The governor on Sunday feared voting in the April presidential and provincial council elections would not take place in five districts of southern Ghazni province because of security concerns.
Musa Khan Akbarzada told Pajhwok Afghan News Giro, Zankhan, Ab Band, Rashidan and Khugyani districts were considered to be insecure.
He acknowledged polls could not be held in Nawa district because Taliban militants had been in control there over the past seven years.

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Resident of the militancy-plagued Andar district in southern Ghazni province on Wednesday said they would actively participate in April elections, despite security threats.
A resident of Sahib Khan village told Pajhwok Afghan News that the security situation had improved in many areas and people could vote in the upcoming presidential and provincial council polls.

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Residents on Sunday said they did not believe next year’s elections could be held in insurgency-plagued parts of the southern province, but security officials insisted elaborate measures were being put in place.

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Elders, residents and public representatives on Tuesday asked the government to improve the security environment in southern Ghazni province ahead of next year’s historic presidential vote.
The call came at a gathering in Ghazni City, the provincial capital, attended by a number of tribal elders and youth. They asked the authorities to take stringent measures to ensure a good turnout in the April 5 polls.
