4 campaigners of a candidate killed in Paktia

SHARAN (Pajhwok): Seventy-five additional polling sites have been set up in southeastern Paktia province, where tight security measures have been put in place for Saturday’s runoff election, an official said on Friday.
The required materials had been dispatched to all polling stations across the province, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) regional chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Two hundreds tribal militiamen are being deployed to each district across southeastern Paktia province to assist security forces in protecting polling sites during Saturday’s presidential runoff election, tribal elders and public representatives said on Wednesday.
The decision to create and deploy militiamen to each polling centres comes after rumours that insecurity would disrupt the electoral province in Paktia.

در مراسمی که در کابل با حضور اشرف غنی احمد زی برگزار شد، حزب ملت متحد افغانستان به طور رسمی از نامزدی وی در انتخابات پیش رو حمایت کرد.
عبدالرحیم ایوبی رئیس این حزب، در سخنان خود از اشرف غنی به عنوان افتخار و مورد اعتبار مردم افغانستان نام برد و گفت که این حزب، در دور دوم انتخابات از این نامزد پشتیبانی می کند.

 
GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The youth on Saturday stressed the need for highlighting the importance of the June 14 presidential runoff election through awareness-creating programmes in southeastern Paktia province.
The demand was made at a gathering in Gardez, the provincial capital. The gathering titled “Youth Participation in Elections” was organized by a non-governmental organisation “ARD”.

 
GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Leading Presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Saturday made clear no one would be allowed to spread linguistic and ethnic fanaticism or frictions among the Afghans.
Addressing a mammoth gathering in connection with his poll campaign in southeastern Paktika province, Abdullah urged thousands of people to vote for his team for the sake of reforms and security.

 
GARDEZ (Pajhwok): All ballots of a provincial council runner from southeastern Paktia province have been invalidated by the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC), an official said on Tuesday.
One of their employees stuffed other candidates’ votes into the ballot box of Shaista Jan Ahadi during the recounting process, IECC head for Paktia Bashir Bahram told journalists in Gardez.
He said the practice had prompted them to scrap all votes of Ahadi, who is also the incumbent provincial council head.
