KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) is all set to announce preliminary results from the second round of the presidential election at 2:00 pm today (Monday), an official said.
IEC Commissioner Aziz Bakhtiari told Pajhwok Afghan News the results had been delayed for five days at the request of presidential contender Abdullah Abdullah and there had been no reason to further delay in the announcement.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The United States, supporting a transparent and credible electoral process in Afghanistan, has once again made clear that it has no preferred candidate.
US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador James Dobbins underlined Washington’s neutrality at meetings with Afghan leaders in Kabul.
During his just-concluded visit, Dobbins expressed admiration for the courage shown by the Afghan voters on April 5 and June 14, according to a statement from the US Embassy.
